Coriander Chicken Tikka (धनिया चिकन टिक्का)

Updated: May 19

Today I am sharing this starters recipe here which is so easy to make that you will surely say that nothing can get easier than this. I made it yesterday as we had planned a movie night and while my little on was all set to munch on popcorn, me and my husband decided to go with something more filling (which without any guess my daughter decided to raid afterwards and we obviously are not complaining). Turned out so well that the next demand was to repeat the same in next house party.

You can do all that little preparation on previous night and all you have to shallow fry them just minutes before your guests are arriving. It is that easy and do not take much sweat or time in kitchen. So here we go.

Ingredients

  • Boneless Chicken : 1/4 kg

  • Curd : 1/2 bowl

  • Coriander leaves : 1 bowl

  • Green Chilis : 3-4

  • Ginger Garlic paste : 1 tsp

  • Turmeric powder : 1/2 tsp

  • Black Pepper Powder : 1/2 tsp

  • Coriander Powder : 1 tsp

  • Cumin Powder : 1/2 tsp

  • Chaat Masala : 1/2 tsp

  • Salt to Taste

  • Oil to Cook

Let's begin

  1. Thoroughly wash and cut the chicken in bite size cubes.

  2. Take Coriander leaves and green Chilis in Mixer Grinder jar and make super fine paste of it by adding little water.

  3. In a mixing bowl, take Chicken Cubes. Add freshly made Chili Coriander paste in it along with all other ingredients except Oil. Mix everything really well. Cover and refrigerate overnight or at least 3 hours. Its always best to marinate chicken for longer time as it helps Chicken to absorb all the flavors.

  4. After hours of marination, take the pan and heat some oil for shallow frying the cubes. Once oil is hot, place each marinated cube in it one by one each separated from other. Cook for 3-4 minutes on one side and then flip each tikka with the help of tong or simple forks.

  5. Cook other side too for more 3-4 minutes. Your Tikkas should be ready to serve. You can check by inserting fork in them if they are completely cooked. Remove on plate and serve hot with Green Chutney and some simple salad.

Tips

  • Always use boneless chicken for this one. Prefer to find Chicken thigh pieces for more tenderness though i could not find them at last moment when we decided to went ahead to make it with Chicken breast. they worked well too.

  • Use thick curd as it gives best coat and flavor.

  • Take really fresh and handful of Coriander leaves as they are main star of the tikkas.

  • You can increase or decrease the quantity as per your spice buds but I will suggest to keep it medium spicy at this level as we wont be adding any Chili powder in this one.

Do make these for any small or big occasion or even just for your family as a little side dish for lunch or dinner and let me know in the comment section how they turned out for you.
